About the organisersThomas Roth-Berghofer is Senior Researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence DFKI GmbH, and Lecturer at the University of Kaiserslautern. He is working in the field of artificial intelligence, specifically in case-based reasoning, the semantic web, explanation, and context. His main research interests are in trustworthy and explainable knowledge-based systems. He co-initiated several workshop series such as Modeling and Retrieval of Context and Explanation-aware Computing. He was Stefan Schulz researches self-organising aspects for combinatorial information retrieval and creation. His main research interests are peer-based, context- and explanation-aware systems focusing on sharing and managing knowledge in communities of practice and organisations. He co-initiated the workshop series on Modeling and Retrieval of Context, Explanation-aware Computing, and is involved as Program and Scientific Committee member in current conferences and workshops on context, context-awareness, and David B. Leake researches case-based reasoning, explanation, context, intelligent user interfaces, knowledge capture and management, introspective reasoning, and human-centered computing. His work combines AI, cognitive science, and human-centered computing. He is chair of the Steering Committee for the Seventh International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Modeling and Using Context (CONTEXT-09), was a Program Chair for the CONTEXT'05, and was Chair of the Seventh International Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI-03). Daniel Bahls is graduate student of computer science at the University of Kaiserslautern and research assistant at DFKI GmbH. He is working on the open source case-based reasoning tool myCBR, for which he is designing and implementing an explanation component to provide modelling support for the user. Furthermore he is tutor of Thomas Roth-Berghofer's lectures. |
